Parsons is now an acclaimed writer and has already produced a series of award-winning animated children's films about unsung Black historical figures. She's also published three books for children: a middle-grade novel, How High the Moon; and two picture-book biographies that stem from her non-profit organization called, Sweet Blackberry.
