Dear UH Community: Summer is a very exciting time on our campus with the numerous youth camps underway, new student orientations taking place, and many visitors coming to the University! We are delighted so many of these visitors prefer to dine on campus and enjoy the delicious food and variety offered at our Dining Commons. With the popularity of the Dining Commons during the summer season brings the opportunity to be mindful of the following protocol and standard processes of large group reservations to ensure an enjoyable experience for all of our valued customers, including the UH community, campus visitors and UH students living on campus during the summer sessions; and to stay within approved Fire Marshal capacity requirements:
- Groups greater than 10 will need to ensure a confirmed reservation during the peak lunch times of 11 a.m.-1 p.m. as a courtesy to all fellow diners. Unfortunately, groups without a reservation will not be able to dine in the Dining Commons due to capacity limits, and will be referred to alternate dining options on campus. Reservations can be made by contacting UH Dining at Shared.UHResidential.Dining@compass-usa.com.
- Groups with a confirmed reservation time during the peak lunch times should be mindful to adhere to their confirmed reservation time as the space will not be held for an extended time as a courtesy to other customers awaiting reservations.
- As Cougar Woods Dining Commons is open for lunch until 2 p.m, staff and faculty may want to also consider dining after peak lunch times to avoid high-volume lines at some stations and to ensure ample capacity for summer camp participants, prospective students and UH students living on campus for the summer sessions.
