Hello Fellow Cougars,

Student Housing and Residential Life is excited to announce the return of Cougar Movers! Being a Cougar Mover is your opportunity to welcome and support first time students, returning students, and their families as they move in Thursday-Saturday, August 17-19. We invite you to visit our SignUpGenius and volunteer to assist students as they move into their rooms. You may volunteer as an individual or as a group. The final day to volunteer is Friday, August 4.

Volunteers are critical to welcoming the thousands of students to campus, many for the first time as they start their college career and others for their last fall with graduation on the horizon. Your help in welcoming them, getting them moved in, and making them feel that they belong will make the start of the academic year special and successful.

Signing Up: At our main SignUpGenius page: Select the day(s) and time slot(s) that work best for you or your organization (morning shifts are two hours and afternoon shifts are one hour). Then, advance to the next page to input your (or your organization’s) contact information. If loading and pushing carts to students’ rooms is not your cup of tea, we do have a limited number of other volunteer opportunities- simply let us know in the Comments field. Please sign up by Friday, August 4.

A member of our Cougar Movers Team will contact you shortly after your form is received to share information about t-shirts, your assigned volunteer location, and attending a short, virtual Cougar Mover orientation during the afternoon or evening of Monday, August 14.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact our Cougar Movers team at cougrmvr@central.uh.edu.
