Brazos Trace, 2007
Inkjet print on brushed aluminum; 3 panels: 366 x 240 inches

Mimicking the contours of the Brazos River, the work highlights the importance of sugar, cotton, and wildlife migration to the area, incorporating these elements as abstracted patterns. Taking cues from the Brazos’ original Spanish name (translated as “River of the Arms of God”), Brazos Trace visually embraces the viewer with encircling “arms.”
