Dear UH Faculty and Staff,

Parking and Transportation Services is making some changes to permit sales for the 2020-2021 fiscal year to streamline the process and make it easier for you.

What's Changed?

  • Faculty and staff with a garage, gated or reserved permit no longer need to purchase a new permit each year.
  • Instead, your existing permit will automatically be renewed.

What Should You Do?

  • If you currently have a garage, gated or reserved permit, do absolutely nothing!
  • Your current garage, gated or reserved permit will be automatically renewed.
  • If you do NOT have one of these permits, click here for separate instructions.

Will You Get a New Hangtag?

  • A new garage, gated or reserved permit hangtag will NOT be mailed to you.
  • You will continue to use the same permit hangtag that you currently have.

How do You Pay for It?

  • If you are currently using payroll deduction, that will continue for 2020-2021.
  • If you paid for your current permit with a credit card, we will reach out to you later this summer with information on how to pay for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

What if You Want a Different Permit?

If you want a different parking permit, sign in to your parking account starting June 10 and purchase a new permit, which will be mailed to you in early August. Once you receive the new permit, you will need to return your old permit to us.

What if You Don't Know if You Will Need a Permit?

With so much uncertainty, we realize it might be difficult to predict your need for parking in the fall. By signing up now, you secure your permit in the event you need it. If your work situation changes and you do not need to park on campus, you may contact us to cancel your permit request.

If you cancel before permits are mailed out in early August, nothing else will be required. If your permit has already been mailed, you will need to arrange to return it to us. Either way, as long as you notify us before Sept. 9, you won’t be charged for a returned or canceled permit.

What if You Have a Question or Want More Information?

Please feel free to call us at 832-842-1097 or email parking@uh.edu.
