Faculty, Staff and Students –

The University of Houston will test its emergency notification system, UH ALERT, at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 14.

This campuswide test will generate email, SMS text, digital signage and UH GO mobile phone app messages as well as social media postings and updates to the UH ALERT website and UH home page.  These will be clearly identified as TEST communications, and you will be informed when the test has concluded. No action on your part is required.

NOTE: You will not receive a text message if you have not provided your mobile phone number in PASS or myUH. If you have not, we urge you to sign up for this important emergency information. Instructions on how to do this are available here.

The University of Houston conducts regular tests of its emergency plans and capabilities. The tests include but are not limited to drills, tabletops, functional exercises, and simulations. General information about the emergency response and evacuation procedures for UH is publicized each year as part of the University’s Clery Act compliance efforts, and is available on the website of the Office of Emergency Management.

If you have questions about UH ALERT, please visit the UH ALERT website for more information.
