As I mentioned last week, we have planned our first steps to prepare for possibly restarting research in a safe way. We have developed a draft plan that is currently under review. No date has been set for restarting research at this stage. We will keep you informed.

Research on COVID-19

I frequently get asked who among our researchers is working on COVID-19 related research. Please let us know if you work on anything COVID-19 related that is not already captured by IRB or IACUC through sending an email to AVPR Claudia Neuhauser (cmneuhau@central.uh.edu).

VPR Virtual Office Hours

We are continuing our weekly VPR Office Hours. The next session is on Friday, May 1, 2 p.m. (Please note the time.) I hope you will be able to join us. We had 72 individuals attending the session last Friday. I look forward to talking with you this coming Friday.

You can access the event through the Research & Innovation Teams site, where you will also find channels for topic-specific questions you might have for our directors. I would like to encourage you to post questions prior to the event in our VPR Office Hours channel.

Faculty Café

We are offering bi-monthly 50-in-5 Faculty Café sessions on University Research Explained that focus on available funding opportunities in response to the coronavirus crisis. The second online session on this topic is scheduled for Friday, May 8, 1 p.m.–2 p.m. Please mark your calendar and register for the event.
