Request for Proposals

The Center for Carbon Management in Energy (CCME) at UH seeks to advance carbon management to help transform global energy markets and achieve sustainable energy development.

Proposals are being sought to generate new transformative research concepts in carbon management. The grants will foster the development of these concepts by providing preliminary data and concept proofs, as well as build a base for significant industry and marketplace support of impactful and relevant research that will attract industry investment and result in a long-term research program.

We encourage the inclusion of Science, Technology, Engineering, Law, Business, Human Factors, and Policy research that complements carbon management.

ELIGIBILITY: Full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty and non-tenure track research faculty from UH are eligible to submit proposals. Proposals may include external participants, but external participants may not receive funding from CCME.

FUNDING AMOUNT: Grants are limited to $50,000 total per proposal. No indirect charges are to be applied. Funds should not be used for the purchase of equipment exceeding $5,000. Faculty salary is limited to one summer month. Up to six grants will be funded under this call for proposals.

DURATION:  All projects are 18-month projects.

For questions about this grant funding opportunity, contact Charles McConnell at cmcconne@central.uh.edu.
