Applications still open for next Roundtable with the President

Applications are still open for Coogs interested in attending the next Roundtable with President Khator. At this next Roundtable, President Khator would like to hear the perspectives from non-Texas residents about their life as a University of Houston student. If you are interested in meeting with the president in a small group setting, please briefly tell us why. A previous Roundtable featured the perspectives of international students, so at this time, we are only accepting applications from U.S. citizens who are not from Texas. 

The next Roundtable with the President is set for Friday, March 25, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please apply soon!

Frontier Fiesta

Frontier Fiesta is back! This student-led spring festival is a showcase of talents of the UH student body. Each year students from various student orgs volunteer and assist the Frontier Fiesta Association in transforming a piece of our campus into a fully functional town called “Fiesta City!” Activities include variety shows, roller rink, carnival rides, and much more! When: March 24-March 26 in the TDECU Parking Lot.

Cougar Cupboard Provides Free Groceries to All Students

In partnership with the Houston Food Bank, the Cougar Cupboard provides free groceries to UH students. Every student is eligible to pick up food from the UH Wellness office, located in the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Suite 1038, at the following times:

  • Monday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Wednesday: Noon to 2 p.m.
  • Thursday: Closed
  • Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Mutual Respect Scholarship Available

The Anti-Defamation League Coalition for Mutual Respect 25th Anniversary Scholarship Program will be offering six (6) $5,000 scholarships. This scholarship program is available to current University of Houston students who have a demonstrated interest in the pursuit of social justice and equality.  Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled full-time as an undergraduate at the University of Houston.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Financial need.
  • Interest in the pursuit of social justice and equality as evidenced by participation in an organization which focuses on diversity and inclusion.
  • Must commit to twenty (20) hours of volunteer service, 2021-2022 academic year, for a Houston-area organization, and be willing to report on the experience at an ADL Coalition meeting and/or ADL Southwest Regional Board meeting.
  • Willingness to receive mentorship from ADL leaders.

Applications close on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 5 p.m.  

Student Centers Film Series

Come join us for our Monthly Film Series to see "63 for 63: The Loyola Project" in partnership with the Center for Diversity and Inclusion and the UH Athletics Department. The film tells the story of when it was uncommon for college basketball teams to play more than three Black players at any one time, yet the 1963 Loyola University Chicago Ramblers started four Black players and won the NCAA championship. When: March 23, 5 p.m., Student Centers Theater

Latin Dance Night

Come out to our Latin Dance Night in Collaboration with Frontier Fiesta! Learn a variety of Latin American dance styles including salsa, bachata, samba, and reggaeton! Campus Leaders Nominations Now Open!

Applications and nominations are now open for the Leadership and Legacy Awards! Student leaders and organizations are invited to apply to a variety of award categories that recognize outstanding leadership including the highest honor, the Legacy Award. All nominated individuals and organizations will be recognized at the 37th Annual Campus Leaders Ceremony, on April 20th. Apply before March 23!

  • Spring 2022 Session 4: The last day to drop a course or withdraw with a 'W' is Wednesday, March 16.
  • Spring 2022 Session 5: The University Payment is due on Thursday, March 17.
  • Spring 2022: The Book Loan payment is due on Monday, March 21.
