UH Football vs. North Texas

Students can claim their FREE ticket at uhcougars.com/tickets. Masks are required and social guidelines will be implemented.

Campus parking will be impacted by Saturday's home football game! Traffic and parking on campus will be affected in the hours and days leading up to the game at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 26 against North Texas at TDECU Stadium. Find out which lots and garages will be closed.

CAPS Adds Let's Talk Morning Hours

CAPS is here for you, Cougars! Do you need a brief consultation with a counselor, but not interested in on-going services? “Let’s Talk” is a perfect alternative. This consultation service is available to all UH students, faculty, and staff. To access a counselor, call 713-743-5454 and Let’s Talk!

Hours:

  • Mondays | 11 a.m. to noon; 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesdays | 10 to 11 a.m.; 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Wednesdays-Fridays | 3 to 4 p.m.

Cullen Boulevard Improvement Project Update

The start of construction for Phase II of the Cullen Boulevard Improvement Project (Segment ‘B’ - Wheeler to I-45) has begun. Once Phase II is complete, the transformation of Cullen Boulevard will be a welcoming and amazing gateway to the University at both the North and South Entrances to the Campus.

Suicide Prevention Training: QPR

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month! Join CAPS every Wednesday this month from 12 to 1 p.m. to learn the skills needed to prevent suicide and create a community of care at UH. Sign up is required.

 Faith & Sexuality/Gender

An intersectional dialogue. As Yom Kippur (a Jewish holy day for repentance and forgiveness) approaches (September 27-28), the LGBTQ Resource Center will hold a space for people from all faiths to discuss the intersection of their faith and their sexuality or gender.

Everyone is welcome.

  • Mindfulness - Learn about and practice techniques proven to improve focus and reduce stress.
  • Return to "Campus" - Join us Thursdays to share and discuss ways to engage successfully both emotionally and academically this fall.
  • Racial Trauma is Real - Protests following the murders of Black community members have reignited long-overdue conversations about anti-black racism in America. Learn about and understand the impact of racial trauma and how to cope and/or support those affected by racially traumatic events.

AURA Contemporary Ensemble: One on One

The Moores School of Music presents AURA: One on One, a video series featuring performances of exciting solo works by members of AURA Contemporary Ensemble. The music to be performed has been written by some of today’s most innovative composers, who will be interviewed by the performers at the end of each video. A new video will be posted each day October 5-11 and November 16-22 at 12 p.m. on AURA’s Facebook page.

LGBTQ Mentor Program Application Deadline EXTENDED

As a mentor, you have the opportunity to do just that. Unlike faculty and staff, you know the ins and outs of what it’s like to be an LGBTQ+ student right now. Mentors must apply to the program and attend a training.
