Homecoming festivities this week!

Homecoming is more than a football game—it is a week celebrating the University of Houston, uniting students and organizations, and showcasing Cougar Pride and Cougar Spirit during one of the oldest traditions on campus! For each day of Homecoming, there are different events for students, alumni, and the UH community! Check out this week’s events:

• Kick off Pep Rally and Court Announcement with RHA | 10/18/21 | 6-8 p.m. | SC Plaza | Kickoff Homecoming Week with our annual pep rally! Grab some free food and hang out with the UH Football Team, the Spirit of Houston, and Shasta and Sasha!
• CANstruction with MVP | 10/19/21 | 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. | SC Plaza | Homecoming Spirit Teams will construct can sculptures that are sure to impress!
• Strut Your Stuff | 10/19/21 | 7 p.m. | SC Houston Room | Enjoy a night, full of fun, spirited variety skits and dances put on by student organizations across campus!
• Tie Dye with Homecoming | 10/20/21 | 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. | SC Plaza | Get a free shirt to tie dye with Homecoming! We will provide all the supplies for you to bring your colorful creation to life!
• Bed Races | 10/20/21 | 7-10 p.m. | TDECU Stadium, Gate 2 | Spirit Teams get to decorate beds and then compete in a tournament-style race!
• Great Inflatable Race | 10/21/21 | 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. | SC North Lawn | See how fast you can complete the circuit of multiple inflatables and climb up the rock-climbing wall!
• SPB Homecoming Concert | 10/21/21 | 7 p.m. | Lynn Eusan Park
• Rock the Campus with MVP | 10/22/21 | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | SC Plaza | Take part in this campus-wide clean-up and beautification event.
• Homecoming Carnival and Haunted House | 10/22/21 | 7-10 p.m. | Lynn Eusan Park | Try your hand at some classic carnival games for a chance to win prizes, enjoy some of your favorite carnival foods, and walk through the haunted house.
• Homecoming Game v. ECU | 10/23/21 | 3 p.m. | TDECU Stadium | Cheer on your Cougars as they host ECU for the 76th homecoming game!

CDI Fall Speaker Series: Favianna Reodriguez

The Center for Diversity and Inclusion will host Favianna Rodriguez for its annual Fall Speaker Series! Rodriguez will touch on topics including the power of culture and intersectional storytelling, migration, gender justice, and climate justice. Following the keynote and Q&A, there will be a social justice poster-making session. When: October 28, 6 p.m., Student Center Houston Room

Concerning the Political in Art

Doc-Queer-Mentary: Movie Night Social

What’s better than a mid-semester movie night? Come to the LGBTQ Resource Center to hang out, watch an LGBTQ themed documentary, and enjoy snacks! The SAGA Squad is hosting this as their inaugural event. When: October 18, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., LGBTQ Resource Center (Student Center North 201)

Spring 2022 Digital Research Institute

University of Houston Libraries Digital Research Commons (DRC) invites all UH graduate and professional students to submit an application for participation in the Spring 2022 Digital Research Institute, a multi-day intensive experience aimed at building the foundational skills and knowledge needed to generate a piece of digital research.

Lavender Graduation: Graduate Registration Open!

Join other LGBTQIA+ graduating students, alumni, and distinguished guests as we recognize your accomplishments and unique experiences. Graduates are welcome to invite their friends, family, and supporters to join us for the ceremony. As a graduate, you will receive either a lavender or rainbow graduation cord and certificate. Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Stop by the Architecture, Design & Art Library and hunt for clues for a fang-tastic time. After completing the phrase earn a treat. Important Dates

Fall 2021 Session 5: The last day to add a class is Wednesday, October 20, and the last day to drop a course or withdraw without receiving a grade is Thursday, October 21.

Fall 2021: The Book Loan payment is due Friday, October 22.
