Staff Council is dedicated to providing staff opportunities for professional and academic development. STAFF COUNCIL & WOMEN AND GENDER RESOURCE CENTER SCHOLARSHIPSStaff Council and the Women and Gender Resource Center are dedicated to providing opportunities for staff members to advance their education by attending degree or job related academic credit classes during the fall, spring or summer semesters at the University of Houston. Women and Gender Resource Center provides five $1000.00 scholarships. Staff Council provides ten $1000.00 scholarships. Submit one application to apply for both scholarships. For scholarship criteria and more information, click here. STAFF COUNCIL B. RENAE MILTON STUDENTS OF STAFF SCHOLARSHIPThis scholarship was inspired by B. Renae Milton, an UH alumna, long-term staff member, and former Staff Council Program Manager, who supported family-friendly policies and put three sons through college. The Staff Council B. Renae Milton Students of Staff Scholarship provides scholarship assistance to University of Houston students who are dependents of a UH staff member. Staff Council awards one $500.00 scholarship to a student who attends UH. For more qualification criteria, click here. STAFF COUNCIL REBECCA SZWARC PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT REIMBURSEMENT
Staff Council has established a reimbursement program for its staff members as part of the ongoing effort to promote staff education and self-development. The Staff Council Rebecca Szwarc Professional Development Reimbursement is available to UH full-time staff members interested in attending seminars, workshops, training sessions, continuing education courses, professional organization memberships, etc. that are related to their jobs. Up to ten reimbursements will be awarded each year. Reimbursement recipients will be selected during the February to November Staff Council Executive Board meetings.
