UH professor helps develop ventilators
for COVID-19 patients

Assistant Professor of Physics Andrew Renshaw is a member of an international coalition that developed an emergency ventilator for COVID-19 patients. The device, which can be built using readily available components, was developed by the Global Argon Dark Matter Collaboration and is known as the Mechanical Ventilator Milano. Engineered in about six weeks, the ventilator was approved earlier this month for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
