Now taking applications for next President's Roundtable

Complete this form for a chance to be selected to join President Khator, along with a small group of other Coogs, for an in-person roundtable discussion on Monday, April 18, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students will be able to speak with President Khator and discuss their campus life experiences in an informal setting. Spots are limited. Deadline to sign-up is Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 5 p.m.

If you are selected to attend, you will receive an email confirmation, and in some instances a telephone call from Student Affairs and Enrollment Services. Apply today!

Emergency Funding Available

The Diamond Emergency Fund was created to provide funds for emergency financial needs to current full-time students who have spent time in the foster care system, are orphaned or a ward of the state. The application for assistance is open! Contact diamondscholars@uh.edu for more information.

University of Houston Financial Literacy Month

April is national Financial Literacy Month! Enrollment Services is proud to partner with several campus departments to bring a variety of educational workshops and “Ask Me Anything” sessions for our campus community! Have a question about the FAFSA, do not know where to start budgeting, or interested in how to successfully negotiate a salary? Join us at one of our exciting events this April. All events are virtual:

  • Financial Literacy: Budgeting Basics | April 6, Noon | Join us for this workshop sponsored by University Career Services in collaboration with Wells Fargo to learn tips and tricks to get you on the right path!
  • Calculating Your Costs Workshop | April 7, 11 a.m. | This interactive workshop will walk you through how to calculate your tuition/fees and other expenses for the upcoming year and balance your financial aid.
  • Be Benefits Wise | April 13, 4 p.m. | Come learn about what UH offers employees as well as helpful information on how to make these important decisions! 
  • FAFSA/TASFA Workshop | April 14, 4 p.m., and April 18, Noon | Join Scholarships and Financial Aid for a workshop to learn the ins and outs of applying for financial aid.
  • Navigating Financial Hardship as an International Student | April 19, 4 p.m. | In this session, come learn about the options that international students have when faced with a financial hardship. 
  • Salary Negotiation | April 20, Noon | This workshop will show you the tools to identify your value, target salary and strategies for practicing salary negotiation in order to gain confidence and skills needed to earn fair compensation. 
  • Retirement 101 | April 21, 4 p.m. | This session is geared towards UH employees but will include a lot of helpful information for anyone thinking and planning for eventual retirement. 
  • Coping with Financial Distress | April 21, Noon, and April 29, Noon |Join Counseling and Psychological Services to learn how to cope with financial distress and take care of your mental health when times are tough.
  • Ask Human Resources | April 26, 4 p.m. | This AMA (ask me anything) style session is meant to support students, faculty and staff who may be navigating through several decisions that impact their financial literacy. 

CoogTV Film Fest

CoogTV is hosting a Film Festival, showcasing UH students short films, music videos, and skits. Entry is free and food and drinks will be provided. When: April 18, 7 p.m., Student Center South Theater

Pop-Up Library & Studio Session + RED BLOCK BASH

Come check-us out during BAMSA’S RED BLOCK BASH featuring multidisciplinary student art performances.   • Spring 2022 Session 6: The last day to add a class is Wednesday, April 6, and the last day to drop a course or withdraw without receiving a grade is Thursday, April 7.
  • The 4th Installment of the Payment Plan is due Monday, April 11.

Good Morning Mondays

Good Morning Mondays focus on helping shine some light to start the week off. What better way to start the week than with Coffee (or Tea) and Donuts. Come over to the A.D. Take Back the Night: Yoga Event

Take Back the Night is an annual program commemorating a national day of action bringing attention to sexual violence and interpersonal violence on college campuses. Take Back The Night is the earliest worldwide movement to stand against sexual violence. We continue to march forward into the future recognizing and committing to ending sexual violence for all people of all sexual and gender identities, races, ethnicities, nationalities, religious beliefs, ages, abilities, and statuses. Bring your mat and join us for Trauma Informed Yoga this year in the Houston room. When: April 19, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Student Centers Houston Room

The Naked Truth of Bystander Intervention

This UH Wellness workshop is open to everybody to strengthen the culture of care at our campus. Together we will explore the strategies to help us make caring decisions when there is a concern of sexual harassment. Snacks will be served. The Wednesday Lunch program creates opportunity for our community to connect and engage with one another over a hot meal. Whether you identify as faith following or non-religious observing, All are Welcome. Each Wednesday lunch is generously sponsored/provided by a UH Departments, Campus Ministry or local House of Worship.
