Community Dialogue with Dr. Henry L. Gates

The University of Houston Racial Equity and Social Justice Committee invites you to join our town hall community dialogue, The Black Church: This is Our Story, This is Our Song. In the spirit of the Black Church, we welcome ALL members of the UH Community to join us in sharing the triumphs and challenges of working to create a more equitable society. This event will be hosted by Henry Louis Gates, and you must be pre-registered to attend.

Spring Session 5: The last day to add a class is Wednesday, March 24. The last day to drop a course or withdraw without receiving a grade is Thursday, March 25.

Spring Session 3: Interim Grade Forms are due on Friday, March 26.

The Late Filing Period for Graduation Applications ends on Friday, March 26.

Find out how our wonderful campus resources can help you be successful and finish the semester strong. In an effort to ensure that the student body is well-informed on the resources that are offered by the University of Houston, the Dean of Students Leadership Council (DOSLC) will be hosting a College Panel: Campus Resources Edition!

This will be an opportunity for you to participate in a presentation on important campus resources to aid your success and well being! Submit questions for a Q&A session with representatives from CAPS, the Writing Center, LAUNCH tutoring services, and University Career Services. Provide feedback on your UH experience thus far.

DH@UH: Building Connections

UH Libraries announces DH@UH, a new event series convening humanists, data scientists, and digital humanities practitioners at all levels at UH. The inaugural event, DH@UH: Building Connections showcases digital humanities collaborations across UH. Registration information and full program coming soon.

Lesbian Art Show

The LGBTQ Resource Center staff will be showing art from a variety of famous and student artists. All are welcome to attend, and there will be an opportunity for audience members to mention influential and notable lesbian artists who are meaningful to them.

LGBTQ People of Color Discussion Group

The LGBTQ+ POC Discussion Group is for all sexual and gender identities as well as people questioning their identity. It is an intentional space for students of color to share lived experiences.

Lavender Graduation Application

Are you graduating in May? Register to be recognized along with other LGBTQIA+ graduating students in our virtual ceremony on May 7, 2021, as well as receive a lavender or rainbow graduation cord and certificate. We, your guests, alumni, and distinguished community members will gather to honor your accomplishments and unique experiences.

A. I. Lack Series: Organ Masterclass - Chelsea Chen

A. I. Lack Series presents Organist Chelsea Chen “Transcribing for the Organ.” This Virtual Masterclass is open to the public for viewing. Watch and learn as Zurich-based organist Chelsea Chen presents a master class for UH organists on transcription for the organ.

Never the Sinner by John Logann

A true “Crime of the Century.” Chicago, May 21, 1924. Nathan Leopold Jr., age 18, and Robert Loeb, age 19, killed 14-year-old Bobby Franks for the thrill of it. Legendary attorney Clarence Darrow defended them, pleading eloquently against capital punishment in a sensational trial. The University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance presents this thrilling production of Never the Sinner by John Logan.

La Finta Semplice (The Clever Deceiver)

Moores Opera Center presents another live, in-person opera experience, La Finta Semplice (The Clever Deceiver). A little deception can be forgiven in the pursuit of love. In this charming and graceful comedy, a countess pretends to be more innocent than she really is to catch the eye of a wealthy man.

Albert Herring (Opera)

In a small British village, the hunt is on for a young girl innocent enough to be elected Queen of the May. When none are found, poor Albert is enlisted as May King instead, with unexpected and entertaining results.  Come hear some of Houston’s only live, in-person opera this season! The performance will also be live-streamed for our patrons and supporters who prefer to enjoy the opera from the comfort and safety of their home.
