2020 W2 - Tax Statement
01/25/2021, 11:00:01 AM
University of Houston

The University of Houston System is required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide each employee with a W-2 Form that states the employee's compensation and tax withholding amounts for the calendar year on or before January 31st of the following year.  The University offers online W-2 Wage and Tax Statement information.  This benefit expedites delivery of the tax statement by circumventing the mass print and postal mailing processes.

View your W-2 - Employees who expect to receive a W-2 and/or 1095-C statement for the current tax year can retrieve and print their W-2 online via P.A.S.S.  W-2’s should be available on or after January 25, 2021.

Withdrawn W-2 Consent - Employees who have withdrawn consent to electronic distribution of their W-2 statement will have their forms mailed on or before January 31, 2021, using the US Postal Service, to the current address on record.

Changes to the W-2 - Additionally, this year included in Box 14, if applicable, are amounts paid to employees as qualified sick leave wages or qualified family leave wages under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.

Specifically, up to three types of paid qualified sick leave wages or qualified family leave wages are reported in Box 14 separately.  This change may produce more than one copy of the W2 to allow for the wages listed below, all other information will remain the same on each copy:

  • Sick leave wages subject to the $511 per day limit because of care the employee required;
  • Sick leave wages subject to the $200 per day limit because of care the employee provided to another; and
  • Emergency family leave wages.

If you have self-employment income in addition to wages paid by the University of Houston System and you intend to claim any qualified sick leave or qualified family leave equivalent credits, you must report the qualified sick leave or qualified family leave wages when you complete your income tax returns.

For additional information regarding individual income tax returns, please visit the IRS website or contact your tax representative.

Thank you.
