More Cougars Join the Fulbright Student Program

The University of Houston recorded another banner Fulbright year. Eight alumni and current students were awarded grants to research and teach English abroad starting in January 2021. These recipients join a growing list of Cougars to earn a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award after UH was named a Top Producing Fulbright Institution for 2019-2020.


UH Law Center Library Intern Earns Prestigious Fellowship at University of Colorado Law School

Aamir Abdullah, a former intern at the John M. O’Quinn Law Library and 2012 graduate of the University of Houston Law Center, has been awarded the William Wise Law Library Fellowship at the University of Colorado Boulder.

A Houston native, Abdullah began his internship at the O’Quinn library in January 2020. He graduated from UH in 2009 with a B.S. in Political Science.

As an expert at the intersection of culture, spirituality, and mental health, Professor Walker is a frequent contributor to national media, often asked to address the impact of racial tension on well-being.

Pharis Fellowship Scholars Start Individual Experiments to Improve Health of Houston Communities

The Pharis Fellowship is conducted by Data Analytics in Student Hands at the UH Honors College and pertains to the application of data science methods and health modeling to understand the social determinants of health.
