With more than 14 years of experience, Dawn Mopkins joined Campus Safety after having served at Shell Oil Company. She earned a bachelor's of science in nursing, as well as a master's of science in nursing administration from UH-Victoria, master’s of public health and is currently working toward a doctorate in nursing science from Texas Women's University. The UH Facilities Forum is an annual two-day event specifically targeted at all UH System’s facilities leaders and key partners. Providing relevant presentations on topics of concern and interest to today’s higher education facilities leaders, a total of nine workshops were presented.

Brightly colored, large-scale sculptures will be dispersed across the UH campus this October in an exciting new exhibition embodying the mantra that art is all around us. “Color Field” is the first curated exhibition of outdoor sculpture at the University.

For the second year in a row, the A&F Internal Communications team was recognized as a finalist in the upcoming PRSA Houston Excalibur Awards ceremony to be held in October. This year, the honors recognize two signature events: UH Finals Mania: UH Division of A&F "Passion for Pancakes" Supports Student Success and UHPD Behind the Badge: UH A&F Launches Inaugural UHPD Co-Producer of Safety Engagement Event. PRSA Houston's Excalibur Awards honor outstanding public relations professionals, programs and tactics.
